There are over 78,352 students attend Denver Public School. Nearly 55,198 students take advantage of the free/reduced cost lunches, and 1,800 are completely homeless. Denver Public Schools arranges for buses to pick up the homeless children at various stops in Denver. Right now, they carry all their belongings in grocery sacks. These children are in need of basic necessities such as backpacks, pencils and notebooks.
